Whenever you are sharing files and folders in the Windows operating system, you want to have control over the people who have access to the shared resources. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't offer a reliable feature for viewing the users who access your shared folders.

Fortunately, you can use a 3rd party application for this purpose. Programs like Algorius Net Watcher will do the trick. This Windows program can display the users who access a specific shared file or folder in real time and allows you to automatically disconnect them.

After the program is up and running, you will notice 2 tabs in the interface, one for displaying current connections and the other for displaying connections history. The program's functionality is simple. Whenever a user tries to access a shared file or folder from your computer, Algorius Net Watcher will automatically detect this and will display the user's name, together with the folders or files which are being accessed by him. At this point, you will be able to disconnect him from the shared resources with a single click or add him to a disconnection list, so that he won't be able to access the shared folder or file in the future.

The program has three operating modes. It can either disconnect all the users, users who are in the list or no users at all. What's more, it can generate complex reports containing the list of users who have accessed your shared resources, together with the date and time.

Pros

It allows you to disconnect any user from your shared resources with a single click. Besides that, it features three modes of operation. Furthermore, users can be added to a disconnection list. Moreover, it can generate complex reports regarding connected users.

Cons

The interface may require some accommodation time for some users. Using Algorius Net Watcher, you can view the list of users who access your shared resources in real time and you can easily disconnect any of them.
